Redbox launches program for video game rentals

Starting today, consumers can rent video games from Redbox kiosks at 21,000 locations nationwide.

Titles for the Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be available for $2 a day.

According to a press release from Redbox, games such as L.A. Noire, Brink, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Duke Nukem Forever, inFamous 2, Just Dance 2 and Red Faction: Armageddon will be available for rental.

"Historically, video game products have not been available at grocery stores, drugstores or convenience stores," said Joel Resnik, vice president of games at Redbox, when the service was revealed in April. "We make it very convenient by having our kiosks in front of the places people are at every day."

Players can also search for titles at specific kiosks and reserve games on Redbox's website.
